In collaboration with Albany Barn, the Amplified Voices program utilized studio space on N. Swan Street to create a powerful temporary mural during the height of the pandemic. This artistic endeavor provided a platform for students to be social for the first time in a year and express their concerns and aspirations for their neighborhood. The mural depicted a shift from the fearsome aspects of their community to the hopeful changes they envisioned, offering a visual dialogue about the area’s transformation. This project not only beautified an abandoned lot but also empowered the youth to actively shape the narrative of their environment through art.
