ABOUT THE ARTIST
WHAT IS JOY?
Once upon a time while creating a mural in my new studio I had a serious artist block and could not come up with a concept. This piece was going to be permanent so it needed to be something I wouldn’t get tired looking at. Time was running out and I needed a concept. At what is now 3:38am I sit there pencil tapping, still thinking, “WHAT DO I WANT TO CREATE!?” Then I stopped to check myself… “Well how do I feel right now?” I opened my eyes, drew the face, closed my sketchbook and took a deep breath. After that everything felt complete.
My beloved mascot is more than just a silly smile. 3 simple lines that serve as a symbol for positivity, peace, and the unwavering belief in the magnetism of Joy. Filled with 3 floating shapes - a heart, gut and spirit. Embodying the essence of intuition and holistic wellbeing. A gentle reminder to embrace life with optimism, trust all of our instincts, and always nurture the connection between mind, body and spirit.
